Always happy to hear from you

Last month I was introduced to my new grandson Sid, bless him, and to the fact that I have liver cancer. Starting treatment soon and should have been told the details by the time you read this. Many thanks to those who have shown your interest and support.

I guess we can only believe we are a child of God if we really believe it. If we say there is no God then surely that has to be true as well, from our point of view though that doesn’t necessarily make it so.

God has been around in my life for too many decades for me to have any doubt of their existence. Much of my experience is through the experiences of others and I often shudder as I look back through the years which have gone so quickly. Would I have done anything differently? Oh sure, many things. Not least trying to understand the true nature of God much sooner. I’m not saying I understand it now, but I hope and pray things have moved forward in a positive direction. Which begs me to ask the question: “Where are you?”

I have to admit that Harry Houdini has long held a fascination for me. Few performers have ever captured the public imagination like Harry Houdini from his breakthrough in 1899 to his death in 1926. He was one of the world’s most popular entertainers, a true star of stage and screen. Time and again, his escapes from seemingly impossible predicaments thrilled audiences, who found in him a metaphor for their own lives, an affirmation of the human capacity to overcome adversity.

Escapism in both senses of the word. Is faith escapism? People could see Houdini’s performances. Things were a little difficult two thousand years ago…

Always happy to hear from you with questions or comments.

‘Bye for now and God bless you
